This week I’m thinking about…Being intentional about rest. The last couple weeks have been busier than I would like. And while my days have been filled with activities I enjoy, such as getting active, socializing, and spending time with family, it has meant that I don't have many evenings free.
Keeping myself booked in this way has limited my opportunities for the slower paced, restorative winter pastimes that make me feel grounded and more at ease. When the days are cold and the nights are long, puttering around indoors knitting, baking, and reading is profoundly comforting.
As I can sense the faster pace taking its toll, it’s time I took a bit of my own advice. In this final week before spring, I will be more intentional about how I spend my time and energy to restore my inner peace and calm. - Bridgette
