This week I’m thinking about…Breaking ground. Yes, even though it’s cold and wet, there’s some life in my garden beds. The Lima Beans, Arugula, Turnips, Lettuce, Radishes, and Carrots are all out. And indoors on my seed starting bench I have Green Beans, Celery, Fennel, Eggplant, and Tomatoes on the go. I’m working outside and in. There’s wind and mud. It’s impossible to dress for the occasion so I’m too cold when outside and too hot otherwise. Every crop has their own needs. The weather changes on a dime. The frost blanket is always at the ready. Sometimes it feels like I can’t blink without missing something at this time of year. You’d think I must be miserable but: it’s lovely! We’re all gardeners here so I know you can relate!
